1. Australian Consumer Law (ACL)

 


Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).


You are entitled to:

 

  • A replacement or refund for a major failure

  • Compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage

  • Repair or replacement if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure

 


Nothing in this policy limits or excludes your rights under the ACL.

 


 

 

2. Change of Mind Policy

 


We understand that sometimes you may change your mind.


However, due to the commercial nature of the products we sell (commercial catering equipment), change of mind returns are not automatically accepted.


Change of mind returns may be considered if:

 

  • A return request is made within 7 days of delivery

  • The item is unused, uninstalled, and in original packaging

  • The product is in resaleable condition

  • The customer covers all return freight costs

  • The product is not a special order or custom-built item

 


If approved:

 

  • A restocking fee of up to 20% may apply

  • Original shipping costs are non-refundable

  • Refunds will be processed after inspection of the returned goods

 


CateringSale reserves the right to decline change-of-mind returns.

 


 

 

3. Non-Returnable Items

 


The following items cannot be returned unless required under ACL:

 

  • Special order or custom-made products

  • Installed or used equipment

  • Clearance or discontinued items

  • Products damaged due to misuse, incorrect installation, or improper maintenance

  • Electrical items not installed by a licensed electrician (where required)

 

 


 

 

4. Damaged in Transit

 


Please inspect your order immediately upon delivery.


If goods arrive damaged:

 

  • Notify us within 48 hours

  • Provide photos of:

     

    • The damaged item

    • The packaging

    • The shipping label

     

  • Do not install or use the product

 


Failure to notify within 48 hours may affect our ability to claim with the carrier.

 


 

 

5. Faulty or Defective Products

 


If you believe your product is faulty:

 

  1. Contact us with your order number and detailed description

  2. Provide photos or video evidence where applicable

  3. Do not attempt repair without approval

 


We may:

 

  • Arrange inspection

  • Provide repair

  • Offer replacement

  • Provide refund (if major failure under ACL)

 


Manufacturer warranty conditions may apply.

 


 

 

6. Installation Requirements

 


Many commercial catering products require:

 

  • Licensed electrician

  • Licensed gas fitter

  • Qualified plumber

 


Failure to provide proof of professional installation may void manufacturer warranty and affect return eligibility.

 


 

 

7. Return Shipping

 

 

  • Customers are responsible for return freight unless the item is faulty under ACL

  • We recommend insured freight

  • CateringSale is not responsible for damage during return transit

 

 


 

 

8. Refund Processing

 


Approved refunds will be:

 

  • Processed via original payment method

  • Within 5–10 business days after inspection

  • Less any applicable fees (restocking, freight)
