Hobart ECOMAX 404 — 400 mm Rack Glasswasher
The Hobart ECOMAX 404 is an entry-level front-door glasswasher engineered for cafes, bars and small food-service operations that need reliable, high-throughput glass care in a compact footprint. With a nominal capacity of 60 racks per hour (960 glasses per hour) and two automatic wash cycles of 60 and 120 seconds, the ECOMAX 404 handles everything from standard tumblers to delicate stemware with consistent results.
A low 2.5-litre rinse volume keeps water and energy consumption to a minimum while the recirculating wash system maintains cleaning performance throughout service. The patented Wide Angle Fan rinse nozzle maximises spray coverage for streak-free results, and a built-in wash-pump inlet strainer protects the machine from debris to ensure long-term reliability.
Design & Construction
The tank, frame, rinse arm and external panels are manufactured from stainless steel 1.4301 for lasting corrosion resistance. A double-skinned door adds structural rigidity and helps retain heat during the wash cycle. Standard 150 mm stainless-steel adjustable legs allow precise levelling on any bench or stand.
Ready-to-Use Installation
The ECOMAX 404 ships completely equipped with fill and drain hoses, a 15 A single-phase power cord, detergent and rinse-aid dispensers, rinse pump, drain pump and a back-flow prevention device that meets Watermark Approval and AS/NZS 5200.101 requirements. Simply connect to a 240 V supply and your water line — no additional plumbing components are needed.

The unit accepts standard 400 × 400 mm racks (17 × 14″) with a loading height of 308 mm and comes with one glass rack included. The 10-litre wash tank heats to 55–60 °C while the booster delivers rinse water at a minimum of 82 °C for effective sanitisation. Total connected load is just 2.1 kW on a standard 240 V / 50 Hz single-phase circuit, making it one of the most economical glasswashers in the Hobart range.
Important Notes
The ECOMAX 404 is not compatible with external reverse-osmosis systems. Site water-supply pressure must be between 3 and 6 bar for correct operation.
